Job summary

The RAC is expanding its SMR division with a Mobile Vehicle Technician role delivering planned servicing, diagnostics and repairs directly at members' driveways or workplaces. You’ll follow a pre-booked schedule and use advanced mobile diagnostics to ensure quality, safe work.

Expect a 40-hour week (Mon–Sat), a fully equipped RAC van, fuel card, uniform, and tools. Overtime and bonus opportunities provide earning flexibility within a supportive national organisation.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent is required.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic or related role.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points is required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing on mobile basis.
• Perform diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• Complete in-depth repairs typically done in a workshop.
• Offer member advice and recommendations after inspection.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks according to RAC standards.
