Job summary

The RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division, covering the Cheltenham cluster and surrounding towns. You will perform pre-booked servicing, diagnostics, and in-depth repairs on customers’ vehicles, delivering quality work with high standards of safety and efficiency.

Expect a base salary of £40,170 with on-target earnings up to £52,000, plus overtime and bonuses. The role emphasizes planned work, independence, and professional development within a national organization.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic and a full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
