Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You will join the Cheltenham cluster and work on a pre-booked schedule in your local area, focusing on planned maintenance rather than reactive callouts.

You’ll be equipped with a RAC van, advanced diagnostics and a structured development pathway. The role offers a base salary of £40,170 with OTE up to £52,000, and overtime options. A full-time 40-hour week applies.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) required.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing and diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs that you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
