Job summary

The RAC is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR Division. You will operate across the Bridgwater cluster, performing planned, pre-booked work from a RAC van with full diagnostics support, not reactive callouts.

Earn a base salary of £40,170 with on-target earnings up to £52,000, plus overtime, bonuses, and a structured development pathway. Expect 40-hour weeks and Saturday work on a 1 in 4 rota.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic is accepted.
• Full UK driving licence with few points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing and planned repairs in a mobile role.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• Perform in-depth repairs with guidance and paperwork.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks in line with RAC standards.
