Job summary

The RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR Division. You’ll operate on a pre-booked schedule, servicing and repairing vehicles at members’ locations with a RAC van and advanced diagnostics. Expect a base salary of £40,170 with OTE up to £52,000, plus overtime and bonuses, working a 40‑hour week and some Saturdays.

You’ll be part of the Cheltenham cluster, covering local areas and enjoying structured development and a range of employee benefits. Full UK driving licence required.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing and diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
• Member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Work through a clearly planned schedule with pre-booked appointments.
