Job summary

The RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division across the UK. You’ll perform planned maintenance and diagnostics on members' vehicles at driveways and car parks, following a pre-booked schedule rather than reactive callouts.

With a base salary of £40,170 and on-target earnings up to £52,000, you’ll work a 40-hour week with some Saturdays. You’ll have a fully equipped RAC van, tools, and ongoing development within a trusted national organisation.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
