Job summary

RAC is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division in Reading cluster. This role delivers planned, pre-booked servicing and diagnostics with no on-site emergencies, using a RAC van and advanced diagnostics.

You’ll work a 40-hour week with core hours and 1 in 4 Saturdays, earning a base of £40,170 with OTE up to £52,000, plus overtime and extensive benefits. Training and career development are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience, or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
