Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division, based around Reading and surrounding areas. You will work on pre-booked appointments with a fully equipped RAC van, delivering diagnostics, servicing and in-depth repairs with member guidance.

Base salary £40,170 with on-target earnings up to £52,000 through bonuses and premium overtime. 40-hour week with Mon–Sat availability and a structured benefits package for long-term career growth.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• and A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
