Job summary

RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician to join our SMR division. You’ll work on a scheduled list of pre-booked jobs, performing routine servicing, diagnostics with advanced mobile equipment, and in‑depth repairs away from the workshop.

You’ll enjoy a 40-hour week with core hours 8:30–17:00 and 1 in 4 Saturdays, earning a base salary of £40,178 with OTE up to £52,000, plus overtime and bonus opportunities, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance required (or equivalent).
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing and diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• In‑depth repairs that would normally be completed in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
