Job summary

The RAC is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician to join its SMR division in the Reading area. You will work on a pre-booked schedule across Reading and nearby towns, performing planned servicing, diagnostics and in-depth repairs with a fully equipped RAC van.

Daily work follows a structured routine with support for parts and tools, driving a focus on quality and safety while delivering excellent member service.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
• Eligible to work in the UK and perform mobile vehicle repairs.

Responsibilities

• Pre-booked jobs in a planned schedule; no reactive callouts.
• Perform routine servicing, diagnostics and in-depth repairs on vehicles.
• Provide member advice and recommendations after inspections.
• Adhere to RAC safety and quality standards and use mobile diagnostics.
