Job summary

RAC is expanding its SMR division with mobile technicians who service and repair vehicles at members’ premises. You’ll work on pre-booked jobs, using advanced diagnostics and a full RAC van, without on‑the‑spot breakdowns.

You’ll follow a set schedule across Newbury, Thatcham, Andover and surrounding areas, delivering quality workmanship with support and parts ordering built in. A stable full‑time role in a growing team.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience, or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
• No CV required when you apply – quick start through our system.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing on scheduled jobs.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations after inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
