Job summary

The RAC is expanding its SMR division and seeks a Mobile Vehicle Technician to service members at planned appointments across local routes. You will operate a fully equipped RAC van, perform diagnostics, routine servicing and in‑depth repairs with safety at the forefront.

You’ll join a team delivering high‑quality, pre‑booked work with a clear digital schedule, earning a base salary with overtime and bonus opportunities. A full UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic and a full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
