Job summary

The RAC is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division in the Cheltenham cluster, covering Tewkesbury and surrounding areas. You’ll deliver planned repairs and diagnostics on light vehicles using mobile equipment, with a clearly scheduled workload and no emergency roadside callouts.

You’ll work a 40‑hour week with some Saturday shifts, performing routine servicing, complex diagnostics, and vehicle safety checks to keep members on the road.

Qualifications

• Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a vehicle technician working on light vehicles
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In‑depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
