Job summary

RAC is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician to join its SMR division in the Bridgwater cluster. You’ll work on a clearly planned schedule of pre‑booked jobs across local areas, focusing on routine servicing, diagnostics, and in‑depth repairs, with no emergency callouts.

You’ll carry out vehicle safety checks and advisory recommendations, using advanced mobile diagnostics, in a role offering independence, structured development, and future accreditation opportunities.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) is required.
• 2+ years’ experience minimum in vehicle maintenance or similar role.
• Must hold a Full UK driving licence (preferably with few points).

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing and diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In‑depth repairs that would normally be completed in a workshop.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
• Pre-booked appointments with clear schedules; no reactive callouts.
