Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for the SMR division. You’ll operate on a schedule of pre‑booked appointments, performing routine servicing, diagnostics and in‑depth repairs on customers’ vehicles with a fully equipped RAC van and advanced diagnostics.

Qualifications

• Either: NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• Or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points
• RAC provides a structured development pathway and ongoing support

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and diagnostics using mobile equipment
• Perform in-depth repairs you would normally complete in a workshop
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection
• Conduct vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
• Work through a scheduled list of pre-booked appointments
