Job summary

RAC is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division in Stevenage. You will work on a pre-booked schedule, performing servicing, diagnostics and repairs with mobile equipment, delivering quality work directly to members.

You will operate in a structured workflow with planned appointments, not emergency callouts, and you’ll have the support of a fully equipped RAC van and diagnostic tools.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing.
• Perform diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• Complete in-depth repairs typically done in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
