Job summary

RAC is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division in the UK. You will work on a pre-booked schedule covering local Guildford cluster areas, performing routine servicing, diagnostics with mobile equipment, and in‑depth repairs to RAC standards.

You’ll drive a fully equipped RAC van, enjoy a base salary of £45,378 with the potential to reach £57,000 through bonuses and overtime, and benefit from a comprehensive package including pension, life assurance and holidays.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent, with 2+ years' experience.
• OR 5+ years' experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving license with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing and diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• Complete in-depth repairs typically done in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations after inspection.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
