Job summary

The RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You’ll service booked jobs from a fully equipped RAC van, performing routine servicing, diagnostics with mobile tools, and in‑depth repairs with safety checks for members at driveways or workplaces.

This full‑time role is 40 hours weekly with core hours 8:30am–5:00pm and some Saturdays. Base salary is £40,170, with on‑target earnings up to £52,000 plus overtime and bonus opportunities, offering flexibility and practical career

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
