Job summary

RAC in the United Kingdom is looking for a Mobile Vehicle Technician to join its SMR division. You’ll work from a digital schedule, carrying out routine servicing, diagnostics with mobile equipment and in‑depth repairs at members’ driveways or workplace car parks.

The role offers a 40-hour week (Mon–Sat, 8am–8pm on some days), a base salary of £40,178 with on‑target earnings up to £52,000, and options for overtime plus a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• EITHER: NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience OR 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic AND a full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
• Deliver planned work with prepared time, tools and support
