Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You’ll perform routine servicing, diagnostics and in-depth repairs on a mobile basis, with a fully equipped RAC van and advanced diagnostics. Expect scheduled appointments, with no emergency callouts, a stable 40‑hour week and weekend hours on a 1 in 4 Saturday rota.

You’ll need NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) and a full UK driving licence with <6 points. Base salary £40,170 with OTE up to £52,000 and overtime options.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing and diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs performed with appropriate tools.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspections.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
• Deliver planned work with preparation and support.
