Job summary

The RAC is pursuing a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division, delivering planned maintenance to members at driveways and car parks. There are no emergency callouts, and you’ll work to a scheduled list with the time, tools and support you need.

This is a 40-hour week with core hours 8:30 am to 5:00 pm and 1 in 4 Saturdays, with a base salary of £40,170 and on‑target earnings up to £52,000. Eligibility includes either NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance with 2+ years’ experience or 5+

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• OR 5+ years’ experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic with a full UK driving licence (≤6 points).

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing and diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• In‑depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
