Job summary

RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician in the SMR division to perform planned servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on members’ vehicles at scheduled locations across the Solihull area. Expect a fully equipped RAC van, digital scheduling, and a focus on quality, not emergency breakdowns.

The role is a 40-hour week with core hours 8:30am–5:00pm and one in four Saturdays. Progression in diagnostics and EV readiness is supported with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance required.
• 5+ years’ experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic required.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing.
• Perform diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• Complete in-depth repairs typically done in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.

Education
