Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for the SMR division in the Leicester area. You'll work a scheduled, pre-booked list of jobs with a fully equipped RAC van, tools, and diagnostics.

The role focuses on planned maintenance and repairs rather than emergency callouts, in a fixed 40-hour week with some Saturdays. You’ll perform servicing, diagnostics, and in-depth repairs, while offering member advice and ensuring RAC safety standards.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• Or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing of vehicles.
• Diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs typically done in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations after inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
