Job summary

The RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division, covering a clearly planned schedule of appointments. You’ll perform routine servicing, diagnostics, and in-depth repairs at members’ driveways or workplaces, with a focus on quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Expect a 40-hour week with core hours and some Saturdays, a base salary around £40,178 and OTE up to £52,000, plus overtime opportunities and bonus potential.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing.
• Diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
