Job summary

RAC is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician to support the SMR division. You will work on a clearly planned schedule across the Bournemouth cluster, delivering scheduled maintenance and diagnostics for members on-site at driveways or car parks.

Expect a base salary of £40,178 with on-target earnings up to £52,000 and guaranteed overtime to lift base pay. The role is 40 hours weekly, with 1 in 4 Saturdays, and comes with a full RAC toolkit, van, uniform, and access to advanced diagnostics.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
• Willingness to work a 40-hour week with Monday–Saturday availability (8am–8pm).

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing.
• Perform diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• Complete in-depth repairs typically done in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
