Job summary

Education Authority (Northern Ireland) is seeking a Mobile Cook to support the Senior/Unit Catering Supervisor in meal preparation and cooking. The role involves hygienic kitchen operations, portion control, menu support, and occasional supervision of staff.

You will contribute to high standards of food safety, assist with stock control and service at various sites, and help promote the service to parents and customers. A focus on teamwork and customer service is essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in food prep and cooking or City & Guilds 706-1/706-2 or equivalent
• Two years’ experience in food prep and cooking within a catering establishment
• Knowledge of HACCP and food safety practices
• Willingness to undertake job related training and accessibility to suitable transport or a workaround

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of menus and portion control
• Provide hygienic cooking and kitchen duties including temperatures recording
• Assist with stock-taking, stores/ fridges and deliveries
• Support supervision and training of staff
• Assist in promoting the service to increase uptake and customer satisfaction
