Job summary

Education Authority (Northern Ireland) is seeking a Mobile Catering Assistant to actively participate in the daily operation of the Catering Unit under the guidance of Senior/Unit Catering Supervisor. The role focuses on delivering hygienic, child-centred meals and supporting dining services.

You will handle basic food prep, serving, promoting meals to pupils and parents, and ensure compliance with safety, health and school values. A formal enhanced disclosure check will be required.

Responsibilities

• Basic preparation of food and beverages.
• Simple cooking and reconstitution of prepared food.
• Organising and controlling food service points.
• Serving meals and snacks including transported meals.
• Promoting meals to pupils, parents and staff.
• Maintaining contact with the central kitchen regarding service delivery.
• Preparing the dining area.
• Setting tables and dining areas as required.
• Carrying out general kitchen and dining room duties including washing up and clearing equipment.
• Cleaning the kitchen/servery and dining room areas.
• Recording temperatures for control purposes.
• Carrying out duties in line with statutory requirements and school policies.
• Promoting and adhering to the school values and ethos.
