Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician within our Patrol division to perform diagnostics, roadside repairs and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You’ll operate from home, servicing local clusters such as Harlow and surrounding areas, and be provided with a RAC van, fuel card, uniform and diagnostic kit.

Ideal candidates have NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or 5+ years as a Technician, plus a full UK driving licence with under 6 points.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent qualification.
• 2+ years’ experience in a maintenance role.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair and diagnostics.
• Provide emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Offer quick, confident solutions and reassurance to RAC members.
• Start and end the day working locally from home and in your local area.
