Job summary

RAC in Stockport is seeking a Roadside Technician to join our Patrol team. You’ll diagnose and repair vehicles at the roadside, deliver emergency breakdown support, and help members return to the road across the UK.

You’ll start and end your day at home, supported by an RAC van, fuel card, uniform, tools and diagnostic kit. The role requires an NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent), 2+ years’ experience, and 5+ years as a Technician, plus a full UK driving licence with fewer

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) and 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Diagnose faults, fix issues at the roadside and provide quick, confident solutions.
• Start and finish each day from home, visiting local areas with RAC support.
• Use supplied tools, diagnostic kit and vehicle to assist members.
