In this critical role, you will be responsible for delivering both planned and reactive maintenance across a variety of mechanical building services systems. You'll play a key part in maintaining safe, compliant, and efficient environments across our client sites. Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on mechanical assets (e.g. HVAC, pumps, valves).
  • Conduct legionella control and monitoring activities.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out remedial works independently.
  • Maintain accurate records on CAFM systems (e.g. TotalMobile).
  • Supervise subcontractors and ensure safe systems of work, including use of Permits to Work.
  • Participate in emergency response and out‑of‑hours cover as part of a rota.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, including proper use of PPE and adherence to Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
  • Maintain compliance with BS7671 standards for relevant works.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, contractors, and clients.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a Facilities Management environment.
  • NVQ Level 2 or higher in Mechanical Engineering Services (City & Guilds or equivalent).
  • Valid UK Driving Licence.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain BPSS and CTC clearance (required for specific sites).
  • Strong fault‑finding, diagnostic, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Experience with CAFM systems and maintenance documentation.
  • Awareness of Health & Safety legislation and safe working practices.
Desirable (but not essential)
  • IPAF / PASMA certification.
  • Technical Appointments such as CP - Mechanical or Pressure Systems (CPMPS).
  • Experience working in secure or public sector environments.
