Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a skilled Mobile Plant & Vehicle Mechanic for a field-based role in Leeds. In this position, you will diagnose, repair, and maintain mobile plant equipment across various sites. Key responsibilities include performing preventative maintenance, conducting safety inspections, and liaising with clients to minimize downtime. The ideal candidate will possess a relevant trade qualification, experience with mobile plant equipment, and the ability to work independently. A valid driver's license and knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems are essential.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with mobile plant equipment.
  • Current Driver's Licence (HR / MR licence desirable).
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs on plant equipment.
  • Diagnose faults using diagnostic tools and manuals.
  • Conduct safety inspections and complete detailed service reports.
  • Liaise with clients and site supervisors to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and ensure a clean, organized work vehicle.

Mobile Plant & Vehicle Mechanic

Location: Various Sites | Field-Based Role Leeds

Employment Type: Permanent

We are seeking a skilled Mobile Plant Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining mobile plant equipment across multiple sites. Enjoy the independence of working in the field, backed by a strong office and workshop support team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs on plant equipment (excavators, plant trailers, telehandlers, etc.)
  • Diagnose faults using diagnostic tools and manuals
  • Conduct safety inspections and complete detailed service reports
  • Liaise with clients and site supervisors to minimize downtime
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and ensure a clean, organized work vehicle
Requirements
  • Trade Qualification – Mobile Plant Mechanic or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic (Cert III or equivalent)
  • Proven experience with mobile plant equipment
  • Current Driver's Licence (HR / MR licence desirable)
