Job summary

Choice Care Group is seeking a Maintenance Operative to carry out reactive repairs and planned maintenance across a range of residential properties. The role covers a mobile West region with a company van and fuel card provided for business use.

You will work five days a week with core hours and participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota, earning a £130 monthly standby allowance in addition to salary. Experience in general property maintenance and good communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Practical experience in general property maintenance or caretaking.
• Ability to perform minor repairs and basic decorating safely.
• Good judgment on when specialist support is required.
• Ability to work respectfully in occupied homes.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Willingness to work out-of-hours on-call rota.
• Good communication, organisation and basic record-keeping skills.
• Confidence using a smartphone or job-management application.

Responsibilities

• Carry out reactive repairs and planned maintenance across residential properties.
• Handle minor decorating, carpentry and fittings within competence.
• Coordinate with contractors for specialist work as needed.
• Work eight-hour shifts Monday to Friday with seven nights per month on-call.
• Use job-management apps and document tasks.
