Job summary

Choice Care is seeking a Maintenance Operative to join its South Region team. The role focuses on reactive repairs and planned maintenance across residential properties, with a clear emphasis on safety, timeliness and resident well‑being.

This mobile role includes a company van and fuel card, a monthly £130 on‑call allowance, and a comprehensive benefits package. You will work a standard eight‑hour day, Monday to Friday, with on‑call duties as required.

Qualifications

• Practical experience of general property maintenance, facilities work or caretaking.
• Ability to perform minor repairs, decorating, carpentry and general household maintenance safely.
• Good judgement on when to escalate to specialists.
• Respectful approach when working in occupied homes supporting vulnerable residents.
• Good communication, organisation and basic record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Carry out a range of maintenance tasks across residential properties.
• Perform minor decorating, carpentry and basic repairs as needed.
• Coordinate with specialists for regulated work and safety compliance.
• Work with Operations to minimise disruption in occupied homes.
• Respond to reactive repairs and planned maintenance within set timeframes.
• Be available for out‑of‑hours on‑call rota as required.
