Job summary

Choice Care is seeking a Maintenance Operative to join the On the Road - Regional Team. The 40-hour week includes an on-call rota and a salary up to £30,000 per year, depending on experience.

You will perform reactive repairs and planned maintenance across residential properties, using company tools and vehicles provided for business use. The role requires practical maintenance skills, good judgement, and the ability to coordinate with specialists.

Qualifications

• General property maintenance experience.
• Ability to complete minor repairs safely and to a good standard.
• Good judgement on when to involve specialists.
• Respectful approach when supporting people in occupied homes.
• Good communication, organisation and basic record-keeping.
• Confidence using a smartphone or job-management app.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rota.
• Ability to meet physical requirements of the role.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor decorating and make-good tasks.
• Carry out fencing repairs and replace lamps as needed.
• Identify and contain leaks; check heating controls.
• Move and assemble furniture; measure windows/doors; replace fittings.
• Co-ordinate with specialist contractors for regulated work.
