Job summary

Choice Care is seeking a Maintenance Operative to join our West region mobile team. You’ll perform reactive and planned maintenance across residential properties, ensuring safe, comfortable homes for residents.

The role includes on-call duties and an eight-hour daily shift, with travel between sites and collaboration with approved contractors for specialist work. We offer a £130 monthly on-call allowance, company van, fuel card and tools, plus a uniform and safety gear.

Qualifications

• Experience in general property maintenance or facilities work.
• Ability to perform minor repairs, decorating, carpentry safely.
• Good judgement on when to call specialists.
• Respectful approach when working in occupied homes.
• Good communication, organisation and basic record-keeping.
• Confident with smartphones or job-management apps.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Willingness to participate in out-of-hours on-call rota.
• Able to meet physical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out minor repairs, decorating, carpentry and general maintenance tasks.
• Repair leaks, check heating controls, replace fixtures and floor tiles as needed.
• Conduct routine and responsive repairs across residential properties.
• Work within training boundaries; coordinate with approved specialists for complex work.
• Eight-hour shift, Monday to Friday, core hours 10am-3pm; on-call seven nights per month.
