Job summary

Choice Care Group is seeking a Maintenance Operative to join its On the Road Regional Team. You will perform reactive repairs and planned maintenance across Choice Care residences, ensuring safety and comfort for residents.

The role is 40 hours per week with an out‑of‑hours on‑call rota and a £130 monthly standby allowance. You will handle minor decorating, carpentry and general repairs, use company tools, and coordinate with approved contractors for specialised tasks.

Qualifications

• Practical experience of general property maintenance, facilities work, caretaking or a similar hands-on role
• Ability to complete minor repairs, basic decorating, simple carpentry and general household maintenance safely and to a good standard
• Full UK driving licence
• Willingness to participate in the out-of-hours on-call rota
• Ability to work in occupied homes with residents

Responsibilities

• Perform reactive repairs and planned maintenance across residential properties
• Carry out minor decorating, carpentry and general repairs as needed
• Coordinate with approved contractors for specialist maintenance and compliance tasks
• Identify safety issues, report accurately and ensure tasks are completed to a high standard
• Work with the team to minimise disruption in occupied homes
