Job summary

Speedy Services in Edinburgh is seeking a Mobile Engineer to join our on-site team. You will ensure service schedules are up to date and respond quickly to customer needs during equipment breakdowns, while maintaining strong safety and compliance standards.

The role requires a valid driving licence, mechanical engineering experience, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. We support training, development, and flexible working arrangements where possible.

Qualifications

• Valid full driving licence is essential.
• Previous mechanical engineering experience is essential.
• Experience in plant repairs on sites and on-site inspections.
• Good computer skills including Microsoft Office.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work alone under pressure and as part of a team.
• Ability to support ESG Strategy initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Ensure equipment service schedules are up to date.
• Respond to customers in times of need and during breakdowns.
• Support site teams with repairs and inspections as required.

Mobile Engineer - Edinburgh - Monday to Friday - 07:30-16:30 - 42 hours per week

Based at our customer site in Edinburgh, the Mobile Engineer plays a key role in our operations, ensuring equipment service schedules are up to date and responding to our customers in their times of need, should equipment breakdown.

For us to help you on your journey to success, here’s what you will need:

• Full driving licence
• Previous mechanical engineering experience is essential, ideally gained within the hire industry or other engineering field
• experience in plant repairs on sites and also low level access repairs on sites and also on site inspections
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written
• Able to work alone under pressure and as part of a team
• Ability to support your business unit/team to deliver our ESG Strategy – Decade to Deliver.
