Job summary

Speedy Hire Plc in Erith is seeking a Mobile Engineer to service, maintain and repair equipment at customer sites. You will perform planned preventative maintenance, diagnose faults and respond to breakdowns to keep customers operations moving.

The role requires hands-on electrical/mechanical aptitude, strong communication, and the ability to work independently. You will work a 42-hour week with a 9-day fortnight, enjoying good safety and customer-service focus within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering experience in hire, plant or similar environment.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.
• Strong focus on safety and customer service.
• Flexible and team-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintaining and repairing equipment at customer sites.
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance in line with service schedules.

We're looking for an experienced Mobile Engineer to join our team in Erith, supporting customers directly at their sites and keeping their equipment safe, reliable and ready to work.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing engineering role where no two days are the same. You'll manage planned servicing alongside responding to breakdowns, helping to keep our customers and their operations moving.

The role
