Qualifications

• Proven experience working in an automotive environment conducting stripping and fitting ideally as an MET Technician.
• If your background is within light vehicle maintenance and you have some skill in stripping and fitting we would also welcome your application.
• City & Guilds, NVQ, or ATA qualifications are ideal but not essential.
• Must hold a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out Mechanical, Electrical, and Trim (MET) work on allocated jobs.
• Panel replacement and realignment to manufacturer specifications.
• Vehicle diagnostics, fault finding, and fault clearing.
• Removal and refitting of radiators, air conditioning repairs, and re-gassing.
• Panel straightening and filling.
• Suspension component replacement and repairs.
• ADAS calibration with training provided.
• Identifying additional repair work and liaising with the Vehicle Damage Assessor (VDA).

MET Technician

Location: Newport

Salary:

£21 - £23 per hour plus uncapped time saved bonus (Worth an extra £5000 - £10,000 per annum in most cases)

Hours:

Monday to Friday 42.5 hours and can be worked with a degree of flexibility.

We are currently recruiting for a fully qualified MET Technician for a reputable Bodyshop in Newport. This opportunity has arisen due to the increased volume of work at the site, and we are looking for a dedicated individual who is keen to earn well and thrive in a fast-paced, busy environment. ATA accreditation is preferred but not essential.

Role Overview
