Mental Health Nurse – General Practice

Hours: Up to full-time (flexible options available)
Location: Lovemead Group Practice, Roundstone Surgery, Trowbridge

We are looking for a caring and motivated Mental Health Nurseto join our friendly and supportive team at Lovemead Group Practice, Roundstone Surgery. This is a fantastic opportunity to bring your expertise into primary care and to work closely with patients at the point of need, supporting them through difficult times and helping them access the right care.

As part of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in improving the mental health and wellbeing of our local community. You will be the first point of contact for patients experiencing distress, and will offer a calm, compassionate and professional response.

Responsibilities
  • Providing urgent support and crisis management to patients presenting with mental health concerns
  • Carrying out initial assessments, developing care plans, and offering short-term interventions
  • Supporting patients with safety planning, coping strategies and practical advice
  • Signposting and referring to specialist services, community organisations, and voluntary sector partners where appropriate
  • Working alongside GPs, nurses, social prescribers, and other colleagues to ensure holistic and joined-up care
About you
  • A qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with current NMC registration
  • Experienced in supporting people through crisis situations
  • Able to work independently, but also keen to be part of a collaborative team
  • Compassionate, approachable, and committed to improving access to mental health support
  • Skilled in communication, with the ability to build trust with patients and colleagues alike
