Job description
Overview

As the Mechanical Services Manager, you will oversee and supervise the mechanical services team and contractors, ensuring that statutory, planned, and reactive maintenance is delivered to both the main and remote campuses in line with agreed SLAs. Your responsibilities will include setting up and renewing contractor provisions for managing compliance of mechanical systems including natural gas, water, F Gas, HVAC etc. and the BMS, managing the team's workload using the Planon CAFM system (training provided), and ensuring all work is carried out safely and efficiently. You will also be responsible for meeting and greeting contractors, explaining issues to facilitate effective repair solutions, ensuring value for money, and managing health and safety requirements. This role is hands-on, requiring you to actively support and mentor mechanical technicians and apprentices, lead responses to emergency mechanical issues, and audit contractors\' work.

Responsibilities

  • Lead responses to emergency mechanical issues and audit contractors\' work.
Qualifications / Experience
  • Experience as a mechanical services manager, mechanical supervisor, or senior technician ready to move into a managerial role.
  • Background in managing and maintaining mechanical installations.
  • Ideally qualifications equivalent to HNC / NVQ Level 3 or demonstrable equivalent experience managing compliance of mechanical systems including natural gas, water, F Gas, HVAC, and the BMS.
  • Willing to travel to remote campus buildings (Scarborough, Milton Keynes, Central London, Dagenham) and occasional overnight stays; training may be provided to address minor gaps in experience.
Salary and Benefits

Salary: Competitive starting salary range from £40,515 up to £46,071 per annum (dependent upon experience) with potential to progress. A discretionary range for candidates with exceptional experience can be discussed / considered.
