Job description

The role

As a Mechanical Senior Supervisor, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. As an experienced and skilled Mechanical Supervisor, you’ll lead complex aircraft maintenance activities and apply advanced diagnostic techniques to keep critical systems performing at their best.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain task authorisations for aircraft/component work per AMC requirements, including fault evaluation and raising work cards.
  • Supervise team performance to meet delivery targets and report progress to management.
  • Ensure compliance with MOE and FMPs through oversight checks and control of tooling/test equipment.
  • Provide leadership and guidance, conduct PDRs, support training, and deliver on-the-job development.
  • Communicate effectively to share complex information and manage team dynamics.

This role is full time working 36 hours per week and is based on site at RAF Valley, Anglesey.

Essential experience of the Mechanical Senior Supervisor
  • Proven leadership experience with strong supervisory background.
  • Broad and in-depth product knowledge, expert competence in technical area, and understanding of interfacing disciplines.
  • Comprehensive logbook demonstrating current skills, knowledge, and authorities for aircraft or bay work.
  • Ensure compliance with risk assessments, SHE policies, and procedures.
  • Practical expertise in aviation safety standards and safe operating practices.
Qualifications for the Mechanical Senior Supervisor
  • Completed an Engineering Apprenticeship, preferably in Aeronautical Engineering or a military equivalent.
  • Minimum qualification: City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance, or an equivalent certification.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
