Job description

Lead and oversee night‑time maintenance operations at Torr Works, a super quarry in Somerset.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Lead day‑to‑day maintenance activities and manage breakdown responses to minimise operational disruptions.
  • Coach and develop a team of Fitters and Contractors, driving high standards in safety, reliability and technical excellence.
  • Own health and safety protocols, setting an example for the team.
  • Manage contractors and suppliers for specialist repairs and services.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production and Planning teams to achieve availability, performance and reliability targets.
What We’re Looking For
  • Mechanical or electrical qualification (HNC, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) with experience in heavy industry or mineral extraction.
  • Hands‑on leadership experience in a maintenance setting.
  • Proven ability to work in fast‑paced environments, juggling priorities calmly.
  • Excellent communication, team‑building skills and a commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Strong focus on safety and high performance.
