Omega Resource Group is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for days (Mon-Thu) in the Doncaster area. This is a part‑time fixed term contract with a view to permanent, 32 or 40 hours, with occasional weekend overtime.

The role sits at an award‑winning FMCG site that supports training, development and growth. You will perform planned, preventive and breakdown maintenance to minimise downtime, work with conveyors and materials handling, lead mechanical repairs and use a CMMS.

Qualifikationen

• Experience with planned, preventive and breakdown maintenance in manufacturing environments.
• Ability to fault-find quickly and accurately on mechanical systems.
• Experience with CMMS and conveyors/materials handling equipment.
• Apprentice trained or NVQ Level 3 in mechanical engineering.

Aufgaben

• Provide planned, preventive and breakdown maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Ensure continuous production by fault-finding and maintaining process/packaging equipment.
• Lead mechanical repairs and use CMMS for maintenance tracking.
• Diagnose root causes and implement minor equipment modifications to improve performance.
• Participate in scheduled and responsive maintenance tasks as allocated.

Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - Days Monday to Thursday part time

Location: Doncaster area, good A1 AND M18 access

Do you want to come off shifts involving 12 hours? Work a Monday to Friday pattern?

This is an 8-hour rotating pattern offering weekend overtime.

Pay Range: £33,500 to £39500

32 hours or 40 hours condired, part or full time considered

Contract Type: One Year Fixed term contract view to go permanent

Key Responsibilities - Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - days monday to thursday

• Your new challenge will be providing effective and efficient planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance to minimise losses to production
• Ensure the continuous running of the production process by eliminating downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault-finding and maintenance of process and packaging equipment
• Planned and reactive maintenance to keep downtime to a minimum
• You'll work with conveyor systems, hoppers, solos, conveyors and materials handling
• Leading mechanical repair and working with a CMMS
• Diagnosis, resolution, and elimination of root causes
• Implementation of minor equipment modifications in support of increased performance
• Completion of all scheduled, planned corrective, reactive and improvement maintenance as allocated
• Contribute to the planning and implementation of allocated annual equipment overhauls

Qualifications & Requirements - Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - Days monday to friday

• Apprentice trained or NVQ level 3 in a mechanical engineering discipline in maintenance engineering
• Manufacturing Industry experience, heavy, medium or FMCG environments considered
• Routine Preventive Maintenance, so as to have an understanding of a PPM schedule
• Finding and fixing faults quickly and effectively
• Basic welding and fabrication skills advantageous
• A proactive approach to fault finding, a commitment to continuous improvement and personal development
