Job summary

Staffline is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for days in the Doncaster area on a 1-year fixed-term contract with a view to permanence. The role offers a Monday to Friday pattern with an 8-hour day and weekend overtime on an established FMCG site.

Training, development, and support are provided, with opportunities to learn and grow as the site expands. You will perform planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance on conveyors, hoppers, and materials handling, and you will lead

Qualifications

• Apprentice trained or NVQ level 3 in mechanical engineering in maintenance engineering.
• Experience in manufacturing FMCG environments considered.
• Routine preventive maintenance with knowledge of PPM schedules.
• Ability to find and fix faults quickly and effectively.
• Basic welding and fabrication skills are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance to minimise production downtime.
• Ensure continuous production by diagnosing faults safely on process and packaging equipment.
• Perform planned and reactive maintenance to keep downtime to a minimum.
• Work with conveyors, hoppers, solos, conveyors and materials handling.
• Lead mechanical repairs and work with CMMS.
• Diagnose, resolve and eliminate root causes of faults.
• Implement minor equipment modifications to improve performance.
• Complete scheduled and reactive maintenance as allocated.
• Assist planning for annual equipment overhauls.

• Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - Days Monday to Thursday part time
• Location: Doncaster area, good A1 AND M18 access
• Do you want to come off shifts involving 12 hours? Work a Monday to Friday pattern?
• This is an 8-hour rotating pattern offering weekend overtime.
• Pay Range: £33,500 to £39500
• 32 hours or 40 hours condired, part or full time considered
• Contract Type: One Year Fixed term contract view to go permanent
• Industry: Consumer FMCG Manufacturer, family-owned company

Key Responsibilities - Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - days monday to thursday

• Your new challenge will be providing effective and efficient planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance to minimise losses to production
• Ensure the continuous running of the production process by eliminating downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault-finding and maintenance of process and packaging equipment
• Planned and reactive maintenance to keep downtime to a minimum
• You'll work with conveyor systems, hoppers, solos, conveyors and materials handling
• Leading mechanical repair and working with a CMMS
• Diagnosis, resolution, and elimination of root causes
• Implementation of minor equipment modifications in support of increased performance
• Completion of all scheduled, planned corrective, reactive and improvement maintenance as allocated
• Contribute to the planning and implementation of allocated annual equipment overhauls

Qualifications & Requirements - Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - Days monday to friday

• Apprentice trained or NVQ level 3 in a mechanical engineering discipline in maintenance engineering
• Manufacturing Industry experience, heavy, medium or FMCG environments considered
• Routine Preventive Maintenance, so as to have an understanding of a PPM schedule
• Finding and fixing faults quickly and effectively
• Basic welding and fabrication skills advantageous
• A proactive approach to fault finding, a commitment to continuous improvement and personal development
