Ernest Gordon Recruitment is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (Maintenance) in Doncaster. The role offers a Sunday–Thursday shift (14:30–22:30) with training, progression, and overtime opportunities as you support production machinery, FLTs and HGVs.

You will perform PPMs, fault finding, and repairs across mechanical and basic electrical systems, liaising with production and transport teams to reduce downtime. The salary ranges £35,000–£40,000 with benefits.

• Maintenance or mechanical/electrical background with hands-on repair experience.
• Experience with production machinery, forklifts (FLTs) and lorries (HGVs).

Mechanical Engineer (Maintenance)

Do you have a background in Mechanical Engineering or similar? Are you looking to join a market-leading business as part of its PM shift team, working a Sunday-to-Thursday shift pattern in a varied role, you will receive training and development from senior members of the team and have the opportunity to progress into a Team Leader role, and be able to boost your earnings through regular overtime.

The company is expanding due to continued growth and is looking for a Maintenance Technician to support day-to-day operations across production machinery, Forklifts, and HGVs.

In this role, you will carry out planned preventative maintenance, respond to breakdowns, diagnose faults, and complete repairs across mechanical and basic electrical systems. You will work closely with production and transport teams to minimise downtime, complete service records, and ensure equipment is running safely and efficiently.

This role would suit someone with mechanical or electrical background for a stable role with ongoing upskilling training and the opportunity to progress to shift leader.

The Role:

• PPMs, breakdown repairs, fault finding, and safety inspections
• Working on Production machinery FLTs, HGVs
• Sunday to Thursday, 14:30 – 22:30

• Maintenance Technician, Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer, Vehicle Technician, or similar
