Job summary

Omega Plc is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer on site to perform planned, preventive and breakdown maintenance across our manufacturing site. You will help sustain high production uptime, troubleshoot faults quickly, and work with conveyor systems and packaging equipment.

The role emphasises a proactive maintenance approach, with training and support provided for career development. An NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering is preferred, and there are opportunities for overtime and

Qualifications

• Requires apprentice-trained or NVQ Level 3 in mechanical engineering for maintenance engineering.
• Experience in manufacturing environments (heavy/medium/FMCG) is desirable.
• Understanding of planned preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules and fault diagnosis.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned, preventive and breakdown maintenance to minimise production losses.
• Keep production running by fault-finding and maintaining process and packaging equipment.
• Operate with CMMS to document maintenance and repairs.
• Contribute to annual equipment overhauls and minor modifications for performance.
• Carry out routine maintenance and quick fault fixes to reduce downtime.

Key Responsibilities - Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - days monday to thursday

• Your new challenge will be providing effective and efficient planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance to minimise losses to production
• Ensure the continuous running of the production process by eliminating downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault-finding and maintenance of process and packaging equipment
• Planned and reactive maintenance to keep downtime to a minimum
• You'll work with conveyor systems, hoppers, solos, conveyors and materials handling
• Leading mechanical repair and working with a CMMS
• Diagnosis, resolution, and elimination of root causes
• Implementation of minor equipment modifications in support of increased performance
• Completion of all scheduled, planned corrective, reactive and improvement maintenance as allocated
• Contribute to the planning and implementation of allocated annual equipment overhauls
  Apprentice trained or NVQ level 3 in a mechanical engineering discipline in maintenance engineering
• Manufacturing Industry experience, heavy, medium or FMCG environments considered
• Routine Preventive Maintenance, so as to have an understanding of a PPM schedule
• Finding and fixing faults quickly and effectively
• Basic welding and fabrication skills advantageous
