Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Poole is looking for a Quality Inspector to perform inspections on goods and engineered parts. The role offers a permanent position with competitive pay of up to £17.94 per hour and various benefits including 25 days holiday, enhanced pension, and private medical insurance. Candidates should have experience in mechanical inspection, be able to read engineering drawings, and confidently use measuring equipment. An advantage would be familiarity with CMM. Qualifications

Job Overview

Location: Poole, Dorset

Type: Permanent position

Salary: Up to £17.94 per hour / £673.07 per week / £35,000 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Mon‑Thu 7:30am‑4pm; Fri 7:30am‑1pm)

Benefits: 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, enhanced pension up to 8% company contribution, sick pay, employee assistance programme, life assurance, private medical insurance.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Inspect all goods in, goods out, and various engineered parts and assemblies.
  • Inspect manufactured and bought‑in parts/components.
  • Use precision measuring tools such as micrometres and calipers.
  • Work from process instructions and engineering drawings.
  • Identify and report any quality concerns or non‑conformances.
  • Maintain accurate records.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Previous experience of mechanical/quality inspection.
  • Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
  • Confident at using measuring equipment.
  • Any previous experience of using a CMM is advantageous but not essential.
