Job summary

A manufacturing company in Chesterfield is seeking a Mechanical Fitter to work within a production team. The ideal candidate should have a mechanical qualification and experience with assembly, quality checks, and engineering drawings. This is a full-time role offering an hourly rate between £17 and £18.50, working Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

  • Hold a recognised qualification or served a full mechanical apprenticeship.
  • Understanding of how to work to quality procedures.
  • Be proficient with reading and interpreting engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

Overview

MECHANICAL FITTER

Inspire Resourcing are working with a manufacturing company in Chesterfield (S40 area). The Mechanical Fitter will work within a production team using time served mechanical skills to build and test equipment across the whole Company range. This will include working on new to market product development as well as standard operating machinery. This role requires a good understanding of mechanical engineering principles, a high attention to detail and excellent fitting skills.

Responsibilities
  • Checking of parts prior to assembly
  • Sub-assembly and final assembly build
  • Pre distribution checks to be completed in accordance with Project Manager requirements
  • Packing of equipment, including quality checking procedures
  • Notify Line Manager of stock shortages prior to there being an impact on production
  • Maintenance and upkeep of all quality work procedures and checklists
  • Always feedback quality issues to management
  • Be aware and operate within the company's Health & safety code of conduct
Qualifications / Skills
  • Hold a recognised qualification or served a full mechanical apprenticeship
  • Understanding of how to work to quality procedures
  • Be proficient with reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Be a good team player
  • Be a good time-keeper
  • Have good health and level of general fitness
  • Fork lift truck certificate (advantage)

Hourly Rate: £17 - £18.50 PH

Hours: Monday - Friday (early finish on Friday)
