Qualifications

Job Summary

Responsibilities
  • Understand and produce high quality products from mechanical drawings provided.
  • Travel to events abroad as Maintenance Technician when required; assist coordinate rigging and de‑rigging mechanical equipment and structures.
  • Maintain and keep in good order department tools including power tools and Mechanical Engineering stores; prepare components to be sent to an event.
  • Support and provide feedback to the drawing office when required and assist in development of prototypes.
  • Diagnose and rectify mechanical faults and undertake repair work.
  • Weld using MIG, TIG, arc and gas welding and cutting equipment, aware of machine shop and fabrication techniques.
  • Compile technical reports with associated drawings as required, pertaining to mechanical systems or operations.
  • Carry out unplanned maintenance as required.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently and provide design modification and change requests to the drawing office.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Strong ability to read and understand mechanical layout and engineering drawings.
  • Excellent computer literacy; proficiency in AutoCAD (2D).
  • Current UK driving licence.
  • Apprenticeship or recognised qualification (NVQ 3, BTEC level 3 or degree in a mechanical engineering environment).
  • Qualified to operate forklift, Merlot, cherry picker and scissor lift.
  • Extensive experience in a Mechanical Engineering environment.
